How Long Does Mobile Tyre Fitting Take?

Published 2026-04-25  ·  TT Mobile Tyre Fitting 24/7

One of the most common questions from customers across Birmingham and the West Midlands is how long the whole process takes. Here is an honest breakdown.

From the moment we arrive at your location to the moment we leave, a single tyre fitting typically takes 20 to 30 minutes. A full set of four tyres usually takes 45 to 60 minutes. These times assume a straightforward fitting — most jobs fall within this range.

The process has several stages. First, we remove the wheel from the vehicle — this usually takes 5 to 10 minutes depending on the vehicle and whether any locking wheel nuts are involved. We then demount the old tyre from the rim using our portable tyre machine, fit the new tyre, and inflate it to the correct pressure. Finally, we balance the wheel using our balancing equipment before refitting it to the car and torquing the wheel nuts to the manufacturer specification.

A few things can add time. Corroded wheel nuts that have seized on can slow things down. Some vehicles have awkward jacking points or require adapters. Run-flat tyres take slightly longer to fit as the stiffer sidewall requires more force. And if you need a puncture repair rather than a replacement, the repair process — which involves removing the tyre from the rim, cleaning the puncture channel, and fitting a proper plug patch — takes around 15 to 20 minutes on top of the normal fitting time.

We will always give you a realistic time estimate when you call. Call 07762 455291 to book a fitting across Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Coventry or anywhere across the West Midlands. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — and we come to your location.
