Our base is in east Birmingham (B33), which puts most of the city within 5 to 10 miles of the van. That's why the call-out across Birmingham is £60 to £80 — the same at 3am on a Sunday as at midday on a Tuesday. There's no night, weekend or bank holiday surcharge.

Where we get called out across the city

Emergencies happen most on the roads that carry the most traffic: the M6 around the city from junction 4 to 7, including Gravelly Hill (Spaghetti Junction), the A38(M) Aston Expressway, the Middleway ring road, the A45 Coventry Road towards the airport, the A38 Bristol Road and the A34. But just as often it's a flat found on the drive in the morning, or a tyre that gave out in a supermarket or workplace car park.

If you've stopped on a motorway, get everyone out of the car and behind the barrier first, and call 999 if anyone is in danger. Then call us with the junction and the direction you were travelling, and we'll talk you through what happens next.

What we bring

The van carries tyres in the most common car, van and SUV sizes, from budget to premium, along with puncture repair kits, a portable balancer and a torque wrench. If the tyre can be safely repaired, we repair it. If it can't, we fit a new one there and then, balance it, and check the pressures on all four wheels before we leave.

Tell us your tyre size when you call if you can — it's on the sidewall, something like 205/55 R16 — and we'll make sure it's on the van. If you can't find it, your registration number is enough.
